【綜合報導】美國總統和國家安全顧問團會面後，周六正式宣布將對敘利亞政府採取軍事制裁，並已授權，但他強調國家必須全民同心才會更強壯，所以他進一步表示要先獲得國會通過支持才會行動，而議員預計9月9日才會返回國會展開新會期，也就是說是否攻打敘利亞，要等到9月9日以後才會有結果。
