馬英九總統上午冒雨在總統府前參加佛誕節暨母親節大會，他為三天前遭到菲律賓公務船槍擊身亡的漁民洪石成，要求大家在大雨中，起立默哀十秒鐘。

馬英九說，當全國母親都快樂時，有一位母親卻非常不快樂，她就是廣大興28號船長的母親，她的先生在三天被菲律賓的公務船攻擊死亡，希望大家為這位非常值得同情的母親祈福，為死去的先生哀悼。
