警察局門口高掛紅燈，有何典故？全台警分局、派出所大門口，都有1顆紅燈高掛大門中央，晚間紅燈點亮；不少警專生好奇，向資深員警詢問也得不到答案；網上眾說紛紜，有人指古時衙門就是紅燈籠，也有說是日治時代產物，或指紅燈能鎮煞，嚇走孤魂野鬼；中市警局說，正解是日治時代警燈混亂，最後才統一為紅燈。

「派出所、警局的紅圓燈泡，有什麼意義？」到中市派出所實習的陳姓警專生，向所內資深巡佐詢問，質疑派出所、警局大門中央高掛的紅燈既不醒目，也不顯眼，壞了還要換，晚上6點後又要準時開燈，巡佐被考倒、無法回答。

網友對警局紅燈典故眾說紛紜；有網友根據歷史提出古時衙門高掛紅燈籠，有威嚇、警示效果；有網友根據風水，認為紅燈可鎮煞、驅邪，讓孤魂野鬼不敢進警局擾亂治安。

「紅色的波長最長，傳遞速度最快！」網友還以物理學觀點解釋，表示為讓民眾一眼看到警局位置，以紅燈高掛警局，但近年都市發展光害多，紅燈不明顯，「歷史意義已大過實質意義」。

許姓資深員警說，高掛派出所的警燈又被稱「光明燈」，他曾碰到派出所警燈不亮，當時報案電話響不停，事情處理不完，後來「寧可信其有」，自行更換燈泡後，一路平安直到下班，「實在很玄」。

「日治時代警燈格式混亂，政府發文統一！」台中市警局行政科謝財建說，現存公文史料只能追溯到民國73年，「省警務處」發函至全台警察機關公文提到，各警察廳舍的警燈沿用日治時代，樣式不一，發布公文統一門牌、警徽及警燈的格式。

他說，警燈使用紅色有幾點原因，包括紅色象徵警察保衛人民、維護治安的熱血、熱忱，另紅色也給予民眾安全感，晚上能很快找到警察機關，尋求協助。

【大紀元2013年09月24日訊 警方於9月20日在溫哥華國際機場拘捕了一名同素里槍擊案有關的男子。
　　
綜合兇案調查組已接手調查此案。調查組發言人龐德（Jennifer Pound）透露，案發於上星期五下午4時，警方接報素里145A街夾81A街一間房屋內傳出槍聲，到場警員發現一名男子中槍倒斃。警方相信案件涉及家庭糾紛，未公布死者身分。
　　
警方追緝到一名涉案的56歲越南裔男子Hong Manh Nguyen，並於當晚在溫哥華國際機場將涉案男子逮捕，拘捕過程未發生衝突，現時他仍被警方扣留。
　　
不過，被捕男子逃匿時駕駛的貨車和使用的武器依然不知所蹤，警方呼籲市民協助尋找一輛2000年的綠色本田Honda Odyssey貨車，車牌號碼為390XHB。◇

【綜合報導】非洲肯亞首都奈洛比商場遭到恐怖攻擊事件，已經進入第3天，當地警察總長稍早表示「一切很快會結束」，因為槍手已經無路可退，並強調已經救出多名人質。而遇襲的西門購物中心(Westgate)今天至少已傳出4次爆炸巨響。承認發動襲擊的索馬利亞回教激進組織「伊斯蘭青年運動」(Al Shabaab)稍早揚言，若安全部隊以武力攻堅，他們便會殺死人質。

但肯亞當局已經開始強攻購物商場，現場傳出連串猛烈爆炸聲及槍聲，更冒出黑色濃煙，內政部長表示，濃煙是槍手焚燒超市內的床墊造成，目的是要為他們提供掩護。

內政部長強調，當局已全面控制商場各樓層，並擊斃2名槍手，他們已無路可逃，並指人質事件快將結束。軍方則稱，槍手來自不同國家。

阿根廷的消費者購買蘋果平板電腦iPad支付的價格，比世界各國都高；馬來西亞則是全世界買iPad最便宜的地方。

據澳洲聯邦銀行（CBA）旗下CommSec進行的調查，16GB、配備WiFi和視網膜螢幕的iPad，在阿根廷售價高達1,094.11美元；相較下，在馬來西亞僅要價473.77美元。

購買iPad較貴的國家主要在歐洲和拉丁美洲，在巴西售價為791.40美元（全球第二高），丹麥則為725.32美元（第三）。另外，希臘以715.54美元排第五，瑞典706.87美元排第六。

據CommSec，在生產很多iPad的中國大陸，iPad售價為602.52美元。南韓售價為576.20美元，高於台灣的538.34美元。調查中售價次低的國家為加拿大的484.61美元（不含稅），美國售價為499為美元（不含稅），日本則為501.56美元，澳洲506.66美元。

CommSec從2007年就已開始製作iPod指數（後來增加iPad指數），作為判斷貨幣是否適度反映產品價格的標準。

該指數可用來探究購買力平價（purchasing power parity）的經濟概念，即在自由市場的條件下，以相同貨幣計價的一種產品在不同國家的價格應該相同。

【石秀華／高雄報導】「天兔」颱風帶來的風雨，造成南迴鐵路部分鐵軌遭土石流掩埋！台鐵巡軌員今天凌晨發現南迴線枋山到枋野，以及枋山到內獅的鐵軌遭土石流封阻，漏夜派員緊急搶修，今日上午8時15分將土石流順利清理完畢，9時高雄出發的南迴線列車已恢復通車。
 
台鐵高雄火車站站務主任劉俊哲表示，南迴線今天上午因土石流受阻，9時通車前，先取消6時40分及7時10分2班分別從新左營站開往台東及花蓮的莒光號及自強號列車，8時45分開往花蓮的自強號則延誤37分，行程被迫受阻的旅客有人先辦理退票，其他旅客則延後上車。

我認為，一份工作值得領多少薪水，還是在於它需要作多少決策。 說得直白一點就是需要用多少腦子。 這是主管職or老闆和一個基層員工最大的工作內容差別； 也是一份純勞力工作和外科手術醫師的差別。 老闆的決定影響一間公司的未來，基層員工想的則是如何將工作完成； 手術醫師考慮如何下刀承擔著病人死去的風險，一個司機考慮的是如何準時送達貨物。 我並不是說司機這職業就比較賤，準時送達這種事也需要經驗。 只是各職業需要做決策的程度，一定程度上會反映了會有多少薪水報酬。 一位司機的薪水， 更多是用高時數或駕駛技術去換，決策方面值的薪水寥寥可數。 澳洲打工的問題就在這邊， 它確實時薪高， 也確實職業無貴賤， 但真的沒甚麼未來。 職業加薪只想靠年資加一點都不現實，那是20年前台灣經濟起飛才有可能的事情。 最重要還是升職， 要靠專業實力撐起來。 如果你有能力獨力完成一個CASE，有能力主管一個部門， 那你對公司的重要性不言可喻， 談薪水自然就比免洗員工更有底牌。 (當然你如果不是靠實力升上去的，恐怕就沒那麼穩了) 大多數人去了一趟澳洲真的就只是WH，打工+渡假。 新奇有趣新鮮好玩嗎? 當然 還有比22K多的薪水拿 超爽 真的是每天光殺豬除草都愜意的不得了。 一年後回來你想在台灣找殺豬工作嗎? 別開玩笑了。 結果還是重新開始找工作，那一年就像一場夢一樣。 之後談到這段經歷，就變成壯遊或是人一生總是要瘋狂一次之類的。 殺殺豬能有甚麼未來? 經營農場才有未來，不然至少也要撐到當殺豬部的老大。 這真的跟職業貴賤沒甚麼關係， 沒未來是因為你自始至終都停留在免洗員工階段。 如果是學生也就罷了， 都出社會還在這邊沾一些那邊沾一點，30歲很快就過囉! 到時候你要怎麼站在已經累積五六年資歷也許已經是個小主管的同輩面前? 講經驗沒有，講專業也沒有，地位薪水更不用說.. ps:筆者為姐姐年初剛去壯遊回來找了半年工作的小小魯蛇 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.227.65.202

天兔颱風遠颺後，台東縣太麻里華源海灣的沙灘上，遍布大大小小的漂流木，宛如大型集木場。 記者尤聰光／攝影

天兔過後，台東縣南迴公路沿線海域漂著成千上萬的漂流木，有民眾遠望還誤以為有「怪物」，而太麻里華源海灣沙灘上更是布滿漂流木，宛如大型集木場。

台東縣政府農業處表示，海面上出現大批漂流木，主要是台東幾處溪流因溪水暴漲，山區林木被山洪沖倒，再沖入大海，又隨著海流漂移；目前還未公告漂流木撿拾時間，提醒民眾不得隨意撿拾外；另呼籲漁民未來這幾天出海捕魚，航行海上要特別小心。

天兔颱風侵襲南台東，充沛雨量讓主要河川如知本溪、太麻里溪、金崙溪、大竹高溪及大武溪溪水暴漲，大水把山區或溪床的雜木直接沖入海中，颱風過後，這些數以萬計的漂流木，不是擱置在沙灘上，就是漂浮在海上。

昨天台東沿海出現大小不一的漂流木隨浪搖晃的「黑影」，大的面積長達數公里，小的也有籃球場大，有民眾發現還以為是什麼怪物，紛紛停車看個究竟？

「遠看還以為是大型鯨魚在游動」台東李姓男子說，開車行駛在南迴公路上，往海上看去，就看到一團一團的黑影，剛開始還以為是大型魚群，但停車細看，才發現原來是隨海波漂動的漂流木。

蘋果公司iPhone 5s 20日才在全球開賣，德國駭客團體「混亂電腦俱樂部」（CCC）22日聲稱，已經破解5s的指紋辨識解鎖功能。

CCC在自家網站放上一段影片，顯示他們如何利用偽造的指紋，繞過解除5s的Touch ID指紋辨識系統，並描述他們的生物測定團隊成員，如何破解這種新的指紋辨識器。

兩位知名iPhone安全專家對路透說，他們相信CCC成功破解指紋辨識功能，雖然他們都沒有如法炮製。蘋果則未回應這項消息。

CCC說，他們先從玻璃杯上拍下一名iPhone用戶的指紋，接著轉印在一張透明的薄膜上，再用真人的手指按壓在HOME鍵上，解除已被鎖定的手機。

CCC並未聲稱自己從iPhone 5s上取得指紋資訊，而是從別處取得高解析度的指紋。蘋果將指紋資訊儲存在A7晶片裡。

CCC說，這種手法之前就已經用來破解市面上「絕大多數」的指紋掃描器。

名為Starbug的駭客在網站上說：「指紋不該用來維護任何東西的安全，人們在各個地方留下指紋，想靠竊取痕跡偽造指紋，非常簡單。」

高雄市小港區宏平路飆車族聚集飆車時有所聞，警方前往攔查時就一鬨而散，為防類似情況一再發生，影響用路人安全，警方調閱監視器畫面，再以車牌追人，21日晚間逮捕14人，其中3人未成年，其餘均為19、20歲。

高雄市小港警分局今年7月底陸續接獲民眾報案稱，宏平路夜間常有機車聚集狂飆，機車呼嘯而過情景讓人心驚膽顫，每當警方前往查察時，飆車族便呈鳥獸散。

小港警方因而成立專案小組，除派員加強巡邏，調閱路口監視器畫面，發現以宋姓男子為首的飆車族，成員均為20歲以下血氣方剛青少年。

警方說，這群青少年在宏平路、高鳳路一帶不但聚集競速，還連續闖紅燈、逆向行駛、占據快車道、超速、甚至故意製造噪音，嚴重危害公共秩序。

警方提醒為人父母及師長，應多關心孩子在外行為，危險駕車（飆車）行為涉及妨害公眾往來安全，符合刑法第185條妨害交通罪，最高可處5年以下有期徒刑；若致人於死者，可處無期徒刑或7年以上有期徒刑；致人重傷者，處3年以上，10年以下有期徒刑。
